Today the Louisville Patriot completes its third year (our second full year) in circulation as the alternative news source on the University of Louisville campus. The Patriot's inception caused plenty of controversy but then again the ideal it was founded upon always does.

University policies and programs represent liberal privilege

The ideological atmosphere on campus affects people in the University Community. I could not quite describe the affect until I read an opinion column in the Louisville Cardinal titled "Voting Is a White Privilege." That column discussed how assimilation into the "dominant culture" is a form of oppression.
